We want you to have a great relationship with your garden.

Emma founded Yellow House Farm in 2017 as a market garden growing fruits and veggies for a small CSA. With experience in organic farming, professional gardening, and farm-to-table restaurant cooking, Emma transformed the namesake yellow house into a productive growing space, surrounding annual beds with lush edible landscaping.

When plant sale customers asked if she could work on their gardens, the maintenance side of the business quickly took off. In 2020, we made the switch from market garden to ecological gardening business, and moved to Waverly.

If not gardening or responding to emails, Emma can generally be found reading, playing baseball in Druid Hill Park, or throwing a frisbee for her dog Zadie. She is also working to restore a long-abandoned orchard in Western Maryland.

Ona fell in love with gardening as a teenager, and has a wide range of horticultural experience including working with a sustainable landscaping business in New York’s Hudson Valley. Since joining us in 2023, she continues to bring an eye for beauty to our garden maintenance work.

In her spare time, you can find Ona tending her garden and houseplants, crafting, cooking, and hiking with her dog, Mona.

We also regularly work with Eamon Espey (Clear River Landscaping).

Claire joined us in 2024 as part of our maintenance and planting team, having previously worked at Gratitude Garden Co. She is also a professional potter working under the name Milkweed Ceramics—you can find her ceramic wares at winter markets and many local shops!

Hannah started working with YHF in 2021, coming from a background in nonprofit administration and organic farming. She lends her caring nature and attention to detail to both the garden maintenance work and the administrative side of the business. She also enjoys competitive weight lifting, and relishes any chance she gets to train on the job (aka moving heavy objects!).

In her scarce free time, Hannah volunteers with the Baltimore Free Farm and works on restoring her rowhouse!
